D.PhD. in Chemical Sciences from the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM), within the Materials Science and Technology program. She was a Ramón y Cajal contract researcher at the ETSI de Caminos Canales y Puertos of the UPM, joining the Instituto de Ciencias de la Construcción Eduardo Torroja (CSIC-IETcc) in 2008 as a Senior Scientist. He has more than 25 years of research experience in lines related to the durability of reinforced concrete structures and the evaluation of their useful life.
He has collaborated in about 120 research projects and contracts, has published more than 50 articles in scientific journals and presented more than 110 papers in national and international conferences. It is worth mentioning her participation as co-inventor in three patents related to commercial developments of electrochemical methods applied to reinforced concrete, two of which are being exploited by the industry.
She has been a representative of CSIC in international organizations of recognized prestige in the field of construction and its materials, such as the European Construction Technology Platform (ECTP) or the European Network of Building Research Institutes (ENBRI).
Among her responsibilities as a manager, she was director of the Department of Safety and Durability of Structures at CSIC-IETcc (2017-2018) and later became the Deputy Scientific Director of the same center (2018-2022).
